What is the difference between a Manual Stacker and a Hand Pallet Truck?
While both are essential for warehouse logistics, they serve distinct purposes. A Hand Pallet Truck is designed solely for horizontal movement (transporting pallets across the floor). A Manual Stacker features a vertical mast and a hydraulic lifting system, allowing you to lift loads up to 1.6 meters (or more depending on the model). It is the ideal, cost-effective tool for stacking pallets onto racks or loading/unloading cargo from lorries.
How do I know if I need a "Straddle Leg" (Adjustable) stacker?
The choice depends on the type of pallets you use:
- Standard Stacker: Best for “open-bottom” pallets (like standard plastic pallets or wooden pallets without bottom slats).
- Straddle Leg Stacker: Essential if you use “closed-bottom” pallets (such as the common 1200mm “Blue” Chep pallets). The wide, adjustable legs straddle the outside of the pallet, allowing the forks to enter without getting stuck on the pallet’s bottom boards.
Can one person easily lift a 1,000kg load with the manual pump?
Yes. Our STOCKY and Prestar series are engineered with high-efficiency hydraulic pumps. While it requires manual effort, the gear ratio makes it manageable for a single operator to lift a full 1,000kg load. For better ergonomics and speed, most of our models feature both a hand lever and a foot pedal, allowing the operator to use leg power for heavier lifts to reduce physical strain.
What kind of maintenance is required for the hydraulic system?
To ensure your stacker lasts for years in Malaysia’s humid climate:
- Check Oil Levels: Inspect the hydraulic fluid every 6 months and refill if necessary.
- Lubricate Joints: Keep the lifting chain and moving parts lightly greased.
- Seal Care: Avoid overloading, as excessive pressure is the primary cause of seal failure.
We stock genuine replacement seal kits and hydraulic parts locally, ensuring you can repair your equipment quickly without needing a full unit replacement.
Is a license required to operate a manual stacker in Malaysia?
Under DOSH (JKKP) regulations, a formal forklift driver’s license is mandatory for powered industrial trucks. For manual hydraulic equipment, a formal license is generally not required. However, we strongly recommend that all operators receive a basic safety briefing on load centers and stability to prevent tipping or injury, especially when lifting loads at maximum heights.
